sunday picnic

Hi Friends!!
How was your weekend? Here it has been plenty of stuff and we have enjoyed it. We have gone with friends for a picnic on Sunday and it has been great. We all wanted to enjoy the outdoors (and being outside of the City) before the winter begin here... there is already a little bit of snow up in the mountains, but soon it will be pretty full of snow everywhere there, so we won´t be able to go during the winter (not for a picnic at least!).
Hope you have a great new week!

happy May!!

Hello, Friends!! It´s been a while since my last post!
April has gone and I can´t believe it. It´s been a busy month, and so good for my shop, I´m so thankful for that. I was really busy at the begining of April with some new products I wanted to add to the shop, but I´ve had to park all that on corner because of many orders that I had to make first. I hope I´ll can finish the new stuff during this month and they will be available in the shop soon.  I´m saying good bye little by little to the fabrics I have from when I lived in Spain, they are going to be sold out in some more time. So, I´m thinking and searching for new materials here in Chile, and I have a messy mix of ideas in my mind right now.
Hope you´ve had a good April and you will have a great May! See you soon, have a nice weekend!

leather working

leather sewing machine

leather tote bag and herringbone wool pouch

Hi Friends!
I´ve been wanting to make a leather bag since I have the new sewing machine, and I did it this week. I really like the result! Now I´ll test it for a prutential time before listing them in the shop. Ooohhh, such a pity... I´ll have to keep this one for me! :-)
I would like to start working more with leather, adding some more to my products little by little.

handmade wool sweaters

Stocking for winter here in the South Hemisphere. These are two new sweaters that my mother made for me with her knitting machine while I was in Buenos Aires a couple of weeks ago. Look at those pockets, I love them!

And still stocking for winter... I have this new sweater from WearLoveNow, and these new scarf and hat from VeraJayne, two of my favorite Esty shops. I´m so happy with both purchases, they are much more beautiful than in the pictures! You can visit WearLoveNow here, and VeraJayne here.
Well, dear friends, hope you have a happy weekend!

some new stuff

Hi Friends!
Thank you so much for being there, reading my blog :) Let me intoduce you to some new tools in my studio: a starp cutter, stamps for leather, and stamps for making my business cards. Oh, yes... I know you may be wondering how did I do without this before. To be honest.... I´m wondering the same, ha! As an excuse, I can say that the leather strap cutter was really expensive in Spain, and that I wanted my business cards to be handmade, so I´ve found my self writing tons of cards before I could realise. Now the cards are still being handmade, but not hand written. And I´m also cutting the straps without measuring each milimetre, so I can save so much time.

I´ve already used the leather stamps in a little gift for a dear friend. Shhh.... she doesn´t receive it yet! :)

And finally, there are tons of new bags in the shop this week. Many of them are "one of a kind" or "limited edition". I´m making those ones with just a few units, because I have some fabric from when I lived in Spain that I really like and want to use! It´s a pity I can´t make more of those, but the good side is that my customers will have a really really really special bag.
Well, I better say good bye... hope you have a great weekend! Happy spring for all of you up there in the North, and happy autumn for all of us down here in the South :-)
Xo!

working + fast trip

Hello, Friends!
There's been a while since my last post ... you may be probably thinking I've forgot I have a blog, but I did not, and here I am :-)
During these weeks I've been searching for the new leather, I've found it, and I've been testing and making a new edición of my bags. I've told here before I wanted to make some changes, like sturdier handles and straps, and reinforced structure. I´ve had designed this new edición before starting "making" nothing,  but it was improved while I was with both hands on the work, much more than what I planned before starting. It always happens the same to me: when I'm really "making" something, I have a better idea, or I realise I can do something in a better way. And there´s an extra fact I always consider, and is that almost all of my customers are overseas: that makes me want my bags to be really light. This way the shipping will be a bit cheaper, and they will be more confortable to wear too. Well, the new edition will be finally available in the shop this week.
Appart from work, I've been away from home last week, in a short trip to Buenos Aires to visit my family. We are also enjoying an increíble weather here, with sunny days and nice temperatures... summer is turning softer while it says good bye. Thanks God we have autumn, because I'm not ready for winter yet!
Well Friends, hope you all have a good week!

news from my shop

Hi, everyone! Hope you are all well :)
Here it has been a "different" couple of weeks! Last week the new sewing machine stopped working, and it took a while to have it repaired! Is working well again now, but I´ve hardly had time to tested it much.  And this week, I´ve noticed that I´ll have to change the kind of leather I ´ve been using until now, because is not available here in Chile. And as I´m almost out of stock from the leather I have from when I lived in Spain, I need to find a new one here, and is not being easy for the moment. I know I´ll find it, but I will have to re-do, re-photograph and re-list almost all the bags in the shop. At the end it will be a good thing, because I can take the chance to add all the improvements I have in mind for the bags, regarding to a better closure, reinforced structure, and the indside pockets. But in the meanwhile, is strange seeing the shop with only ready to ship items and just a few bags.
There are also new items in the shop: a minimal woman wallet, and a canvas apron for man or woman, wich will be available on more colors too.
Well, friends, happy Friday and have a great weekend!
xo!
PS: ops! almost forgot to say, there´s a new page in this blog, as you can see in the bar in the top of the page... it´s about my favorite shops on Etsy. There are two shops by the moment, from my good friends Becca and Vera. Take a look if you have the chance!
xo!

1. We have gone to "Zapallar" this past weekend, an amazing little town near Santiago, on the Pacific coast.
2, 3. New items in my shop. You can see them here.

back from holidays!

Hi, friends! Here we are back from our summer vacation since last Monday. I´ve mentioned here that we were going to the South of Argentina with part of my family for a week. Well, it has been great! Almost everyone in my family loves fishing except me, ha, ha. But I love the places where they fish, so we went fishing almost everyday and I´ve walked on the woods, simply looking, hearing, smelling, breathing that fresh air and enjoying the fact of "existing".
Now back to work, with no holiday interruptions for a while. I have so many new ideas for my shop, that I´m beggining to develop in these days. I´ve already had the classes to know well my new sewing machine, and it has been really worthy.
Here you have some pics from our trip. And remember: If you want to go to a really beautiful place, the surrounding area of Bariloche will be really a great choice!
Hope you enjoy your weekend, and have a happy new week!
xo!
